Only One...Thanks

Today's Technique Challenge on Splitcoaststampers is to use only one work and no images...just embellishments. I used a Memory Box "Thanks" die and added some dotted paper flowers and some red rhinestones and flourishes.

I used a kitty die by Impression Obsession and a Sizzix Thinlits umbrella die. My inspiration was this business card:

Birthday Cheers!

I used patterned paper from DCWV's Sky's the Limit stack and solid color cardstock from the Brights Matstack.  The cheers die is from Die-Versions and the star dies are from Teresa Collins.  The stamp is by Endless Creations.  The background was embossed with a Darice button embossing folder.  Button brads were used to anchor the banners.

Sending Cheers & Happy Thoughts your way.........Paulette

Upsy Daisy Birthday

The August Sketch Challenge on the Die-Namites Blog is to base your design on one of the sketches shown here:

I chose this Daisy Bunch die:

I used Sketch #4 as the basis for my design.  I used a scalloped circle Spellbinders die to cut the frame.  I outlined the edges of the circle cut out with a gold leaf Krylon pen.  I cut the daisy die with green and yellow papers and paper pieced the flowers onto the green die cut.  The Happy Birthday is an Endless Creations stamp and I cut the banner free-hand and outlined the edges with the Krylon pen.  I added yellow Stickles to the centers and tapped the Krylon against a pencil to create some gold splatters.  I added some gingham ribbon.
Hope your day is as happy as these daisies........Paulette

Romance in the Garden

I chose this rubber stamp entitled "Love Musical."  You can find it HERE:  http://www.rubberdance.com/product-p/co3-6e.htm  This patterned paper by DCWV was just the right color combo for the challenge.  I cut a scalloped oval from the flowery paper with a Spellbinders die and used a smaller die from the same die set to cut a window out of green cardstock.  The green window was placed in back of the flowered window to create a frame.  The larger leaves were punched from a Punch Bunch punch.  The smaller leaves were cut with a die from CC Designs.  The pink flowers and the larger yellow flower are pre-made paper flowers.  The yellow flowers were cut with several flower punches.  I added yellow Stickles for accents.

Take time to smell the flowers this month...........Paulette

Vintage Golfer

The Reader's Art Quest Challenge for August is to design a project with a "manly" theme and to use the following color palette as inspiration:
I used a card by DCWV as my background.  The golfer is from a Stampin Up set.  I did paper piecing on the hat, sweater, shirt and knickers.  The socks were colored with Prismacolor pencils.

Happy Monday..........................Paulette
