Sparkle, Glitz and Glam

I must have been a magpie in a previous life as I am attracted to and tend to hoard shiny objects.  When I saw this challenge on Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge website, I knew it was an opportunity to use some of my glitzy stash.

The project started with a $2 frame from Michaels and some paper from the Graphic 45 Couture paper pad.   Two of the fashion themed stamps were cut out and popped up on dimensional tape.   The fan is a re-purposed earring that has been in my stash for over 20 years.  To keep with the glitzy theme, I added lots of rhinestone flourishes and some red gems.  The flowers on the gown were punched from red vellum and sculpted on a foam pad with a stylus.  I used Platinum Stickles to embellish her head band and necklace.  A pair of red gemstones were added for earrings and a clear gem was added to the headpiece.  Her bracelet was formed from fingernail decals.
Again adding to the sparkly theme, I die-cut the leaves with a Sizzix die from some glittery DCWV paper.  The roses were punched from a Stampin Up blossom punch from red vellum.  I added several rhinestones to resemble dew drops.

A row of lace and red velvet ribbon were added to the bottom edge of the frame opening and a strip of red and silver sequined mesh was added just below the ribbon.  Red gemstones were added to the lace.

What a Pear!!!

I'm in a Shaped ATC swap over on Splitcoaststampers and one of my swapmates requested a pear-shaped ATC.  I couldn't resist using a play on words and getting a little naughty.  Over on the Splitcoast site they are a bit sensitive to nudity so I chose not to post this in their gallery but I'm pretty sure that the recipient of this ATC will appreciate the art form.  The pear is a brad, her "pair" comes from an image on the net and the crown, necklace and hair decoration are all nail decals from the dollar store.  I outlined the ATC with a gold Krylon pen.

Tears and Rainbows

My inspiration came from this tea packaging: http://www.packagingoftheworld.com/2...re-blends.html. I made this card for a sketch challenge on the DCWV blog for March. This is one of my favorite Paula Best stamps.  The paper is from DCWV's Taj Mahal stack.

Have a great day..............................................................Paulette

Viva Las Vegas March Challenge ATC

I made this Artist Trading Card for the March challenge over on the Vivas Las Vegas blog.   The challenge is to use the prompts in the posted "mood board" seen here:

I used the color green, the harlequin background, the moustach, the drink and the bug in my composition.  The sentiment and the bewildered girl are VLVS stamps.  I love this girl stamp...I bought it this Fall on my trip to Vegas with my Meerkat stamp sisters.  We had fun and lots of laughs making up (mostly naughty) quotes for her to say.

I was at a stamping retreat this weekend and this ATC was the result of a very productive four days of fun.

Here's a photo of Claudia, one of my Meerkat stamping sisters, and me at the VLVS stamp store.  I'm holding up the "bewildered lady" stamp and we're laughing about all the funny captions we can think of to use with her.

Easy Being Green

This week's Way to Use It Challenge is to "Go Green." Kermit's BFF here to say "It's easy being green."

Stamp is by Darcie's, frog and lily pad are paper-pieced.  I shaded the frog and pad with colored pencils.  Added googlie eyes and a couple mosquito brads.

Hope we are trading our snowy white for some fresh green soon.

The Tradewinds--- DCWV Sketch Challenge

I entered this card in the DCWV Blog's February Stackaholics' Sketch Challenge.  Not only was my card chosen as one of the top 10 but then my name was chosen as the random winner of the drawing for some DCWV loot.  I'll post my goodies when they arrive.

This card uses papers from the Tradewinds stack. I inked the edges of the white map with a gold leaf Krylon pen.  I added some Starform corner gold stickers and a line of bling.  The sentiment was stamped with Stazon Midnight Blue ink with a Close to My Heart stamp.
